How it works

Four steps, about ten minutes

Most of it is done once. After that your automations simply run.

01

Create an application

You get a Client ID and Secret — the credentials your automation platform uses to talk to us.

02

Install the connector

A single Windows file, no installer and no admin rights. It shows a pairing code.

03

Connect TallyPrime

Enter the code, choose which company to automate, and approve. That proves the connection belongs to you, without any keys to copy around.

04

Build your workflow

Pick a TallyPrime action in your automation platform, map the fields, and turn it on.

What you can automate

Real accounting entries, not just data dumps

Every action posts a proper voucher into TallyPrime and reads the saved record back to confirm it landed.

Built for real books

The hard parts are handled

TallyPrime is unforgiving about how an entry is built, and it will happily accept a request and record nothing. We deal with that so your workflow does not have to.

Every write is verified

TallyPrime answers success even when it recorded nothing. We read the saved record back before telling you it worked — so "created" means created.

A retry never doubles an invoice

Automation platforms re-send steps after a network hiccup. A repeat updates the same record instead of creating a second one.

Checked before it is sent

Ledgers, stock items, godowns and bill references are confirmed against your company first, so you get a clear message instead of a bare rejection.

Errors a person can act on

"Open TallyPrime and press F1 → Connectivity" beats a status code. Every failure names the next step.

Nothing to open on your network

The connector reaches out to us. No port forwarding, no fixed IP, no VPN and no change to your firewall.

More than one company

Connect several computers and companies to one account, and point each workflow at the right set of books.

Use cases

Where teams start

Most people begin with one workflow that removes a daily retyping job, then add more.

Online orders into your books

A new order in your store creates the sales invoice, with items, taxes and the customer ledger already filled in.

Payments reconciled as they land

A payment confirmation records the receipt and settles it against the right outstanding bill.

Customer masters kept in step

A new customer in your CRM becomes a ledger in TallyPrime, with GSTIN and address, without anyone retyping it.

Supplier bills without data entry

An approved purchase order becomes a purchase invoice the moment the goods are received.

Security

Your books stay yours

The connector is a pipe, not a copy. We do not hold your accounting data — we pass each entry through, and TallyPrime stays the only place it lives.

  • Outbound only

Your computer connects to us. Nothing on your network is exposed to the internet.

  • Sealed on your machine

The connector's credential is sealed to your Windows account on that computer — readable only by your Windows account, on that computer.

  • Encrypted at rest

Connection credentials are encrypted at rest. Client secrets are stored hashed and shown to you once.

  • Revoke in one click

Disconnecting a connection stops every token that depended on it, immediately.

What the connector can do

  • It can

Send an entry to TallyPrime on that computer, when a workflow you built asks it to.

  • It cannot

Browse your files, read other applications, or act on its own.

  • It never

Stores your accounting data or sends it anywhere except between TallyPrime and this platform.

Questions

Things people ask first

Yes. TallyPrime is desktop software, so the computer running it has to be on and the connector running for an automation to reach it. The connector starts with Windows and sits in the system tray, so in practice it looks after itself.
No. The connector makes an outbound connection to us, the same way your browser reaches a website. Nothing on your network is exposed and no firewall change is needed.
TallyPrime 7.x, with connectivity switched on (F1 → Connectivity → act as Both). That setting is what lets any program on that computer talk to Tally.
The step fails with a message that says exactly that, so you can see it in your automation platform and re-run it. Nothing is half-recorded.
Yes. Each connection is bound to one company, and you can add several — from one computer or from several. Each workflow points at the connection you choose.
No. We pass each entry through to TallyPrime and read the saved record back to confirm it worked. Your books stay in TallyPrime on your computer.
No. Every connector is included in every plan, including the free one.
